Transplant Biostatistics

Dr. Benjamin French is an accomplished biostatistician with a Ph.D. from the University of Washington and a career spanning academia, government, and international research institutions. Currently Professor of Biostatistics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, he has led collaborative biomedical research projects in areas such cardiovascular disease, cancer epidemiology, and health economics. His methodological expertise includes longitudinal and survival data analysis, prognostic modeling, and the design of randomized trials, with his work published in top journals and supported by open-source software contributions. In addition to his research, Dr. French is a dedicated educator and mentor, recognized for excellence in teaching and service to the statistical profession through editorial work, professional leadership, and committee roles.

 

As Associate Director of Transplant Biostatistics at VCTS, Dr. French provides statistical expertise to VCTS’s strategic mission in study design, data collection and analysis, and implementation. He oversees all activities related to statistical design, data analysis, and reporting. He provides biostatistics support and mentoring to scientific trainees, to cultivate the next generation of transplant scientists.
