Elisa Gordon, PhD, MPH
Elisa Gordon, PhD, MPH, is Professor of Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and serves as Director of Surgical Outcomes Research in the Section of Surgical Sciences and Director of Transplant Outcomes Research at the Vanderbilt Transplant Center.
At the Vanderbilt Center for Transplant Science (VCTS), Dr. Gordon plays a pivotal role as Associate Director in advancing health services and outcomes research in transplantation. She leads efforts to identify and address health disparities in transplantation, leveraging her expertise in bioethics and implantation science to promote equitable access and outcomes. Her work at VCTS emphasizes the development of culturally sensitive, patient-centered interventions and the interventions and the integration of qualitative and quantitative research methods to optimize decision-making and care delivery. Dr. Gordon also contributes to fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and mentoring the next generation of researchers focused on addressing the most pressing challenges in transplantation.
